MILLENNIUM MUSIC CONFERENCE June 22-24, 2006 MMC10 · Crowne Plaza Harrisburg, PA 3 Days of Music Business Panels, Clinics, Workshops, Mentoring & Trade Show · 3 Nights, 30 Stages, 300 Showcasing Acts & Artists Showcase Application Deadline - March 31, 2006
::: Artist/Band FAQ :::
What's the difference between a "registration" and an "application?"
An "application" is the way to be considered for a showcase performance slot at the MMC10. A "registration" is the All Access Laminate purchased by individuals to attend the various 3 Days & Nights of MMC10 events. (music conference panels, workshops, mentor sessions, trade show, hospitality parties, showcases and other special activities). You do not need to purchase a registration badge to apply for a showcase, and if you are offered a showcase, you will recieve credentials for the conference events on the day of your showcase. If you are not invited to showcase, you will be able to purchase a registration after your notification at the lowest rate of $55.00 until June 8, 2006.
How does my band apply to perform at MMC10?
MMC10 is accepting showcase applications from November 15, 2005 through March 31, 2006. The showcase application form is availble online. Simply download the application and send it in with all the required materials. MMC also accept EPK through our partners at www.Sonicbids.com/MMC10 and there is a showcase application at www.myspcae.com/millenniummusicconference All showcase applications must be completed and mailed by March 31, 2006. The fee is $20.00. You will not be considered for a showcase until we have received your application and your materials or your EPK. Those who submit an EPK would be wise to mail in a music CD or a CDR to be considered for the MMC10 Compilation CD. If you have any questions regarding the application process, email: info@musicconference.net
What should I include in my Showcase Submission?
All submissions must contain a compeletd showcase application form; two copies of your music on a CD (minimum 3 original songs; indicate 2 for COMP CD consideration); two press kits with photos, bio's, some current press and itinerary for the last six months; a 40-word band or act description for the showcase guide and a non-refundable $20.00 processing fee.
Where should I mail my check/money order &materials?
Send to: Millennium Music Conference PO Box 1012 Harrisburg, Pa 17108-1012 attn. MMC10 Showcases Allcheckshould be made payable to: Millennium Music Conference
I work with a few bands. Do I have to send separate submissions?
Yes. You must submit a separate seperate application and entry fee for each band.
Last year my band wasn't chosen. Should I resubmit?
Yes. The only way to be considered for showcase selection is to submit.
Any advice before I complete my showcase application and related materials?
Make sure you have all the required materials listed on the showcase application but don't put in alot of other stuff. If you submit and EPK you might consider mailing in a CD. MMC10 usually selects about 50% of their showcase applications and a good submission may give your act the edge over acts and artists. How can I be sure my application was received?
Will you send me a confirmation email after you process applications?
Yes. Sonicbids will generate an email too. It can take a week or two for us to process your materials.
How are bands chosen to play MMC Showcases?
We have a committee of people who listen to music and grade submissions. Every application/submission is graded at least twice. Those with the highest scores are reviewed again and invitations are extended. The deadline to submit the showcase application is March 31, 2006.
When will I find out if my band has been accepted for a showcase?
All acts will be notified of showcase status by April 7, 2006. Sonicbids EPK's may know their status prior to that date. Please do not call the MMC offices unless you need other information and send an email to: info@musicconference.net
Do showcasing bands/musicians receive any compensation from MMC?
No. All acts and/or artists selected will receive credentials to attend the daytime sessions and trade show at the Crowne Plaza on the day of their showcase. Members of acts that submit qualify to register for $55.00 until June 8, 2006. All Acess laminates are reserved for sponsors, registrants, scholarships, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and VIP's.
What's the difference between a wristband, credentials and a laminate?
The MMC laminate enables you to attend all conference events over the 3 Days and Nights. Showcase Wristbands are offered to the general public for $20.00 about a month in advance and get you in free wherever there is a cover charge. Many venues don't charge a cover. Some are as high as $8.00. Credentials are day passes for showcasing musicians to attend the panels, clinics, workshops, keynotes, trade show and mentoring sessions during the afternoons at the Crowne Plaza.
How do I reserve some hotel rooms?
Last year the Crowne Plaza Hotel was sold out around the first week of June. As soon as you know yourcoming or you get selected it would be wise to make a reservation. Make sure your request the music conference rate. Call the Crowne Plaza at717-234-5021 or visit: http://www.cpharrisburg.com
If I don't get a showcase, should I still come to your conference?
Most musicians think the event is just about the showcasesand getting selected. It's Not! MMC10 affords anyone the opportunity to network with other musicians and music industry professionals at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Daytime music business panels, clinics, workshops, keynotes, trade show, mentoring & demo listening sessions are the stuff of MMC10 and all who have submitted showcase applications and currently matriculated students can register for the lowest rate of $55.00 up until June 8, 2006. The that rate goes to $75.00.
